Rico's crunchie munchie
Meal: The crunchie muchie
Experience: On May 3rd, my husband and I went to Belize to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived in Belize around 2 in the afternoon and both agreed that after we get to our vacation home we would go to a restaurant I saw called Rico's. by the time we had gotten to Rico's it was already three in the afternoon and packed, to our displeasure. Although we did meet with an old friend,(the one in the picture), who suggested we try the crunchiness munchies. Amused by the name I waited in line until we were seated and ordered some for our group of three. while we waited we chatted about why our friend, Josiah, was in Belize too. He had come to Belize to blog about the food and I knew i should add this trip to mine.
When the food got to our table my husband, Zach, immediately dug in but I was more apprehensive. the crunchie munchies, aka tacos, were honestly bland and generic looking. The tortillas looked under cooked and the meat was just drooling with grease. the meat was also coated in what i guessed was the seasoning but it was hard to tell as the meat was clearly drown in it. on first glace i did not want to eat the tacos. Requesting a bowl I finally tried the tacos and was honestly surprised. the tacos we very juicy and full of flavor, but there was one thing that was off about it. Instead of lettuce they had cabbage which didn't become soggy like lettuce does. this only amplified the flavor more for me. I enjoyed every bit of the food. now there were many pros and cons to my meal.
The taco was wide in flavor and juicy, but the tortillas were dry and there was not much taco seasoning for our group of three, which did not help when everyone was digging in. the way that the food was made you could tell that there was a lack of effort in cooking the meat as the grease was heavy and unappetizing. Yet with all these faults the food at Rico's was amazing and I would love to go here again and enjoy more of their Crunchie munchies. If you would like to learn more about Rico's leave me a review and I will talk with you soon.
